The CERTIFICATE
OF AUTHENTICITY is on a heavier off-white card stock and bears
important and permanent print data, including:
- the title of
the image,
- Richard Steele's name as
artist, the name of the printer
- the negative
year date
- the print year
date (or best estimate when not specifically known)
- the edition number
(applicable primarily for portfolio prints) the print type (gelatin
silver)
- the print size
(height by width, in inches)
- the mount size
- the signature
(pencil or ink)
- the notes section
includes provenance and other relevant details to the print.
The Certificate
does not include a statement of the condition or value. The reason for
this is that both can change.
