Regular Edition Prints:

The regular edition prints are those authorized number of impressions produced by offset lithography. Offset lithography is a special photomechanical technique in which the image to be printed is transferred to the negative plates and printed onto papers that are both archival and acid free. Offset lithography is very well adapted to colour printing and are more economical for purchasing.

Giclee Fine Art:

A giclee is a high resolution digital print and is a recognized fine art print category like lithographs and serigraphs. Giclee is considered the world's best technique for reproducing original works of art and for printing digitally created art and art photography.

Giclee prints look and feel like original art. Prints are made on real artist materials such as watercolour paper and canvas.

Image permanence is a concern to artists and collectors. When museum quality lighting is used, this time span increases up to 275 years. The giclees offered here have been treated with a UV-inhibitor and all canvases have been glazed with the same. The paper used on the watercolour giclee is of high museum quality and acid-free.

Certificates of Authenticity:

The certificate of authenticity gives authentic fine art and limited editions extensive information about the various factors which intervene in the prints production and edition. The more details the certificate includes the more value it contributes to the print.

Limited Editions:

The concept of "edition" is basic to the world of serial art. It is the "limited edition" which permits artists to distinguish their work from open edition posters. A limited edition is defined as a high quality reproduction of an original work of art that are numbered individually with the total number of the reproduction given (i.e. 5/300).

Limited editions are also printed on high quality stock and are signed and numbered by the artist. They increase their value when no longer available except on the secondary market for resale.

Proof:

A proof is a print made prior to the regular, issued edition of the print. A proof is a test print before the remainder is printed. The proofs are made so that the artist can see what work may need to be done in finalizing the look of the regular edition.

Printer's Proof:

An image set aside from the regular numbered edition for the use of the printer, but otherwise identical to those from the edition. Generally designated by the initials PP.

Artist's Proofs (Epreuve D'Artiste,E.A):

An artist's proof is a print issued extra to the regular edition and reserve for the artist's own use. In fine art Artist's Proofs are usually signed sometime marked 'A.P.', 'E.A.' or 'H.C.' The Artist's Proof is otherwise the same as the regular edition.

Enhanced:

Because the giclees are printed on artist materials such as watercolour paper and canvas the artist is able to go over the edition repainting, touching up special areas, and even adding an image requested by the buyer. This procedure is offered by Corner Boy Editions at an additional cost.

Remarque:

An original hand drawing by the artist painted or drawn onto the regular edition print or the watercolour giclee. This being a special addition to the print at an additional cost.
